Aleramo’s dream

Frassinello Monferrato

The village of Frassinello arose in Medieval times around the castle which was renovated in the eighteenth century by the Nemours, later converged in the Sacchi family. The parish church of Maria Vergine Assunta was radically rearranged in the second half of the seventeenth century on the design of the canon of the collegiate of The Santa Maria di Piazza in Casale: Sebastiano Guala, native of Frassinello. The symbols of the Passion, which are carried in procession on Good Friday, are kept in the church. Just outside of the village is the sanctuary of Madonna delle Grazie which was erected in 1630 to fulfill the vow made by the community during the terrible plague.
